Corn Fest |

Springfield Volunteer fire department in springfield west Virginia will be having their annual Corn Fest which will be taking place on July 21 and 22. On the 21 this event will start at 11:00 and there will be a cornhole tournament, a car show, and lots of food such as bbq ribs and chicken, corn on the cob , coleslaw etc. Yard sale tables will also be available for $3. The Allegany County Tourism trolley will be available to take visitors between Piedmont and Westernport from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM and 1 PM - 4 PM !
• D.J. and Karaoke all day in front of the Piedmont City Building.
• Fishing Rodeo held 8 a.m. till 11 a.m. at the Potomac River by the Hi-Rise Apartments in Piedmont.
• A 5-Spot Basketball Shootout will be held behind the Union Hall, Westernport, 10 a.m. (signup 9 till 10 a.m.)Prizes will be awarded. The top prize is 4 top-notch seats to a Maryland Basketball game along with a parking pass.
• Vendors will be in the downtown area of Piedmont and Westernport 9 a.m. till 4 p.m.
• The Town of Luke will provide free sodas at a booth @ Port Plaza .....A Dunking Booth will be in operation at Port Plaza for those who dare to sit in the chair....
• A Blowup Boxing Ring will be at the former Laundromat on Main Street Westernport.
Various groups will sell food in both towns ... Potomac Fire Company will have Pancakes and Sausage for sale @ 7:30 a.m. And they will have Crab Soup for sale at noon, .... The Tri-Town’s Church Women United will conduct a Bake Sale at St. James Episcopal Church’s front lawn in Westernport ..... Habits in Piedmont will sell Italian Sausages and Boiled Peanuts in front of their store. |

Make Your Own Story Workshop |

July 21, 10AM-Noon The Tri-State Community School for the Arts, located 115 Baltimore Street in Downtown Cumberland (in the mezzanine above Hobby’s Plus), hosts the FREE drop-in workshop “Make Your Own Story” for children of all ages with instructor Tiffany Turbin. Story prompts, pencils, crayons, collage materials and other things to make a storybook will be on-hand for children to create their own story. No registration is necessary, simply drop-in and create! The Make Your Own Story workshops are supported by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive.
