Rush Baptist Church will be having their annual homecoming on Sunday, August 26th at the church on Old Morgantown Rd., Friendsville, MD. Sunday School will begin at 9:45 A.M., Morning Worship at 11:00 a.M. Around 12:30 there will be a covered dish picnic with chicken and roast pork at the pavilion behind the church. In the afternoon the John Wyrick band will present special music along with the Keefers from Friendsville. Karin Tyson and Herman will entertain the children in the afternoon. We invite all to attend for part or for the whole day.
Hot Roast Beef Sandwich Dinner
The Oldtown Volunteer Fire Department will hold a hot roast beef sandwich dinner on Sunday, August 26 beginning at 12:00 p.m. til sold out. Dinner will include a hot roast beef sandwich, mashed potatoes/gravy, cole slaw, dessert and drink. Carryouts will be available.

Central Assembly of God Event
The Women's Ministry of Central Assembly of God Church, 2020 Bedford St. Cumberland MD is hosting a Women's Conference with Kaye Wireback. An inspirational day for ALL women! A little drama, a little comedy, and a whole lot of honesty. It will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012. 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. Irish Music Open Sessions
· August 26, 2-4PM Western Maryland Traditional Irish Music open sessions will be held in the Community Room of the Allegany Arts Council, locate at 9 N. Centre Street in Downtown Cumberland. Interested in learning traditional Irish tunes in a fun session atmosphere? Join us in our monthly slow sessions. (Upcoming sessions are September 23, October 28, November 24, and December 22.) We will teach and play from a set list of session tunes at a slower than normal pace so beginner and intermediate players can more easily learn the core tunes one at a time. More advanced players who want to learn session tunes are encouraged to attend as well. Hosts are Terry Lee & Peter Pihos.
